Shopper Ranking System FAQ’s

Shopper Ranking System FAQ’s

As you conduct shops within our software system, you are rewarded points and badges for each successfully approved shop. On the flip side of that, for each canceled shop, or shop that we have to decline that was incorrectly done, you lose points and badges. We receive a lot of questions from shoppers about how the points system works and how to ensure you remain in good standing with the MSP’s you contract with. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive in regard to shopper rankings and the point and badge system.

Q: How do I enhance my shopper ranking?

A: The more quality, on-time shops you complete, the better your ranking becomes. As each badge is unlocked, you are able to progress through levels and increase your badge rank.

Q: What types of badges are available?

A: There are many different badge types available in the system including but not limited to:

  • Reputation – Number or shops completed
  • Legacy – How long you have been active in the system
  • Reliability – Measurement of the ratio of assignments scheduled to assignments canceled
  • Quality – Measurement of the ratio of approved versus declined shops
  • Diversity – Awarded to shoppers who complete shops across a wide range of concepts
  • Globetrotter – Given to shoppers who complete shops outside of their home area

There are also a series of specialized badges (dining, bar, quick serve, retail, grocery, home/apartment, lodging, convenience store, casino, etc.), which indicate your experience in a given industry.

Q: Is there any way to reverse negative points?

A: While there is no way to remove negative points you have received for a canceled or declined shop, there are things you can do to improve your shopper score. Completing shops, taking iSS prep courses, or even contributing to the software opinion polls, are all ways to gain positive points. If you receive a notification about a last-minute shop that needs completing, that goes a long way with schedulers in terms of reacquiring points.

Q: Do points and badges really matter?

A: YES. Having a higher shopper ranking paints you in a more positive light with the companies you work for, and shoppers with higher shopper rankings, receive more shop opportunities. For some of our more popular shops, such as phone and web shops, we often get many requests for those shops. When we are choosing which shoppers to assign those shops to, we always look at the shoppers with the highest rankings.

Points and badges are a very convenient and fair way for mystery shop companies to keep track of shopper history and to ensure that they are working with the highest quality shoppers in the system. Badges can open you up to better shop opportunities and give you opportunities that other shoppers with lower rankings, do not have access to. If you ever have any questions about your individual shopper ranking or any other general questions about how the point system works, please do not hesitate to let us know.
